Located north of Chula Vista and south of Downtown San Diego is National City.  National City is the second oldest municipality in the Greater San Diego area.  The rancho that is now National City was acquired by brothers Frank, Warren and Levi Kimball in 1868.  The Kimball brothers developed roads, railways, running water, postal service and a wharf in the area making National City providing infrastructure that drove the initial growth of National City.
