Located east of Torrey Pines and west of Mira Mar is Sorrento Valley.  Sorrento Valley was originally settled in the mid 19th century by Chinese immigrants who had arrived to construct the Central Pacific Railroad.  

 

Today, Sorrento Valley is home to some of the largest companies in San Diego County including Qualcomm, Pfizer and Verizon.  While a predominantly commercial and industrial part of San Diego, there are a number of single family homes and multifamily apartments in Sorrento Valley.
